Day 33 - Fuerteventura

I was very excited today that we were going to another island for more exploration - Fuerteventura!!

Why am I so excited? Because we get to drive our car onto the ferry and to another place!! It's my first time and I got overly excited about it when they were discussing about it the other day. The others thought i was crazy for having such a big reaction but seriously... these little things fascinate me so much!! hehehe...

We got there on time and drove into the car park area of the ferry. Each vehicle had to park really close to each other to ensure that everyone fits into the car park. The ferry ride took around half an hour. It was pretty quick cuz by the time we went outside to take some photos and then sat down to chat, it was time to leave again.

After ferry, we went to the tourist information center first to get a map and also some suggestions for restaurants and areas to explore.

- Corralejo
We briefly walked around Corralejo - the main city on that island. The beach was really nice but small so we decided to move on after a few photo shots.

- La Olivia
We then drove by this town for a stopover as the pictures on the map suggested that we should visit Casa de los Coroneles. There was no description of what this place is all about but we thought we'd just go and check it out. We walked over and discovered that the building was deserted. No one was there at all. Purely just the building and the mountains as the backdrop. Totally disappointed - took some quick shots and left.

- El Cotillo
El Cotillo is a little fishing village. This village was quite nice cuz it was along the coast with some beaches. As we walked over to the restaurant, La Vaca Azul for lunch we had to walk over some cliffs. It was really nice day to sit outside at the restaurant. The seafood that we ordered was really fresh and delicious... sitting down next to the water was so relaxing!! We all really liked this village!

- Parque Natural de Corralejo
We headed back north to Corralejo as we wanted to check out the beach. As we driving along the beaches, there were a lot of sand dunes on the other side of the road. We stopped by to check it out... apparently the sand has been blown over from the Sahara desert. We started playing around in the sand. We were sitting on top of the hill and D cames over and dragged me down the hill... at first i was scared cuz it looked deep but the sand was so soft so i slid down really smoothly... it was quite fun but when we had to climb back up the hill... it was so tiring!!

We had a hour or so to spare before we had to head back the port to board the ferry back. We stopped by Las Palmeras shopping centre for a quick toilet break. We headed back to Lanzarote and dropped H at the airport to fly back to London.
